Jeff Shultz joined the firm of Woods, Fuller, Shultz and Smith in 1983, and has focused his practice on personal injury litigation. Individual clients, self-insured employers and insurers seek his advice on complex matters including workers’ compensation, ERISA litigation, and subrogations. Disability claims are a substantial part of Jeff’s practice, whether the benefits are from an employer or an insurer. He has tried multiple cases to verdict and handled numerous administrative hearings, court trials and appeals.  Jeff received recognition in “Best Lawyers in America,” “Chambers U.S.A’s America’s Leading Lawyers”, and was previously named “Best Lawyer’s Sioux Falls Workers’ Compensation Law Lawyer of the Year.” He serves on the State Bar of South Dakota Committee on Administrative Law and is a long-time board member of East River Legal Services. Jeff is the current chair of the firm's Personal Injury and Litigation practice groups.  He received his B.A. form Carleton College ad his J.D. from the University of South Dakota.  His areas areas of practice include: Administrative, Employment, ERISA and Disability, Insurance, Personal Injury, Product Liability, Workers’ Compensation.

Melanie has represented Woods Fuller clients with litigation needs since 1996. Whether civil litigation due to employment issues, insurance defense, or business disputes, she diligently represents her clients’ best interests. A member of the moot court board during law school, she later served as a law clerk to the United States District Court, District of South Dakota, in Rapid City. She has been recognized repeatedly by peers in publications such as “Great Plains Super Lawyers” and the U.S. Business Edition of “Super Lawyers.” Melanie is a member of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, South Dakota Defense Lawyers Association, and the International Association of Defense Counsel. She further works to better the community as a member of the advisory board for the Washington Pavilion’s Visual Arts Center, the Executive Finance Committee of the Washington Pavilion, and the Civil Service Board for the City of Sioux Falls. In 2015, Melanie was elected to the Zoological Society of Sioux Falls Board of Directors.  She received her B.S. from Iowa State University and her J.D. from the University of South Dakota.  Her areas of practice include: Appellate Practice, Business Litigation, Employment Law, Employment Litigation, Insurance, Mediation/Alternate Dispute Resolution, Personal Injury, Product Liability, Professional Liability, Trust and Estate Litigation.

The session is free for members and $20 for non-members (includes lunch) and has been approved for the following continuing education credits.
