WORKPLACE INVESTIGATIONS

Join us as we delve into the intricacies of Workplace Investigations!  The presentation provides a guide to conducting workplace investigations.  It covers pre-investigation considerations, conducting investigations themselves, and post-investigation findings and reports.  It will also address common mistakes made during workplace investigations and how to avoid them.  Hopefully, attendees will be better prepared to conduct workplace investigations within their respective companies after attending the presentation.

Note: We are again offering Zoom as a simultaneous virtual option. As this is a fairly new venture for our chapter, we encourage in person attendance, but feel free to register as a Virtual attendee if needed.  Virtual attendees will receive Zoom link in a separate email shortly before the event.

Attorney Jean Bender actively assists clients with employee benefits issues and all areas of employment law.  She counsels clients on issues involving sexual harassment, race, sex, age, national origin and disability discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and leave issues under the Family and Medical Leave Act. Jean proactively counsels clients on issues such as hiring and firing, drug testing, harassment and discrimination investiga­tions, employment policies, and company handbooks. She also drafts corporate documents related to employment such as contracts, non-compete agreements, and severance agreements and releases.

Reece Almond is a partner and litigation attorney with a wide range of civil litigation experience, including in the areas of commercial litigation, zoning and land-use litigation, trust litigation, employment litigation, personal injury, and insurance defense. He has assisted employers with workplace investigations, responding to charges of discrimination, appealing adverse unemployment-benefits determinations, and litigating discrimination, non-compete, and wrongful termination lawsuits.

Monthly chapter meetings and HR educational presentations are free for members and $20 for non-members.

This event is under review for 1 hour of continuing educational credits from SHRM and HRCI (General).

Events are currently planned for a combination of virtual and in-person presentation options; presentation format will be adjusted as local COVID-19 related conditions permit.
