HR Oopsies—a discussion of common HR mistakes and how to address them Presented by Cesar Juarez, Attorney with Lynn, Jackson, Schultz & Lebrun.
Attendees can expect learn about common HR mistakes and how to effectively respond to them to minimize disruptions in the workplace while at the same time mitigating legal risks to the employer. These HR mistakes were compiled from our chapter member experiences and requests.
Cesar graduated from Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota, and earned his law degree, with honors, from the University of South Dakota in 2011. After a judicial clerkship for the Second Judicial Circuit Court, Cesar began private practice in Sioux Falls in 2012. He joined Lynn Jackson in 2019. Cesar was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star® in 2018, 2019, and 2020. A significant part of Cesar's law practice traditionally has been advising HR professionals. He is a member of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and the South Dakota, Second Circuit, and American Bar Associations. Cesar lives in Sioux Falls with his wife Elizabeth. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and tending to his vegetable garden.

Monthly chapter meetings and HR educational presentations are free for members and $20 for non-members.
We submit our events for consideration as pre-approved continuing educational credits from SHRM and HRCI (General or Business) when eligible.
