  Session Description

  Understanding OSHA compliance is essential for maintaining a safe, legal, and productive workplace. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of OSHA requirements for organizations of all sizes, with insights into industry-specific standards and the differing expectations for blue-collar and white-collar environments. Attendees will learn how to navigate key reporting obligations, prepare for inspections, and avoid common compliance mistakes. Whether you’re new to OSHA or looking to refine your existing practices, this session offers practical guidance, helpful resources, and real-world examples to help you build a stronger safety culture. The session will conclude with a Q&A to address attendee-specific concerns.

  Session Goals

  By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand core OSHA compliance requirements for businesses of all sizes

  • Recognize key differences between blue-collar and white-collar OSHA standards

  Presenter Bio

  Eric Wollan For over 11 years, Eric has managed environmental health and safety programs at the U.S. Department of the Interior, ensuring safe and compliant operations across federal sites. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Management from South Dakota State University.

  Join us for this fun holiday celebration to enjoy appetizers and drinks as we celebrate the year! As always, we have lots of fun activities planned for the event: holiday games, awards, raffles, food & drinks, supporting our community, and door prizes!

  
  

  • What to Wear? Dust off those ugly holiday sweaters! Search your closet for the greatest eyesore and wear it with pride to the event.
  • Participate in the Annual Basket Raffle to win valuable baskets donated by various companies and individuals around the Sioux Falls area. All proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities of SD. We will be accepting cash and Venmo!
  • Basket Drawings will begin shortly after the welcome and drawn throughout the event!
  • Bring business clothing for “Dress for Success.” Go through your closet and see if you have business clothing that you would like to donate for a great cause. Each person donating will receive a complimentary raffle ticket to enter in the Basket giveaway.
  • Holiday Games! You’ll have a chance to participate in fun holiday games for your chance to win fabulous prizes!
  • We will be presenting both the HR Professional of Year Awards and the Workplace Excellence Awards.
  • We will also be giving away Spring Conference Registrations to TWO chapter members in attendance at the December social.
